Although there have been a couple of different choices for Gay Pay-Per-View - producer Brian Graden and MTV Networks launched LOGO, Thursday, June 30th. LOGO is the first 24-hour gay cable network.
Longtime fans of such newtorks as MTV, VH1 and CMT are already familiar with Graden's work as one of the most creative execs on the MTV team. Their new nework will offer free gay programming 24 hours a day - with no added fees for existing cable service.
While fans of the 2 pay-per-view gay networks: HereTV and Q Network are already acustomed to viewing homo programming, now gay programming from LOGO will be brought into the homes of 10 million mainstream cable viewers - with no "pay-per" fees.
Films such as "Kissing Jessica Stein" and "Philadelphia" and documentaries will fill many of Logo's first hours. The network also has a scripted series, "Noah's Arc," about a homosexual black man and his friends in Los Angeles, a reality series about opening a gay bar and the stand-up comedy series "Wisecrack."
A gay man himself, Graden had hoped to help out with Logo even before he was appointed its president.
